Ingredients
- Sea salt 3g
- Extended life vegetable oil 60ml
- Garlic powder 3g
- Pure Canadian maple syrup 5g
- Plantain banana (chilled) 500g
Method
- Heat the oil in a heavy skillet over medium heat. Place a few plantain slices in the oil, and cook until lightly golden in colour. This should take about 3 minutes.
- Once golden, remove from the pan and drain the slices on paper towels. Repeat with the remaining slices.
- Whilst the slices are still warm, place them one at a time between 2 sheets of wax paper, and flatten them by hand so that they’re ¼ inch thick. Return the flattened slices to the skillet and continue frying them until golden brown.
- Drain them on paper towels before finally seasoning with salt and garlic powder.
- Pour the maple syrup over the top before serving them up.
