Local products and suppliers

Onley Oak – Onley Grounds Farm was bought in 1948 by Fred and Alice Baker. They moved there with their 3 sons, Roger, John and Edwin and had a fourth son, Graham, in 1952. The family farm is now owned by Edwin Baker and run by his sons, David and Philip. Lawrence Baker, Edwin’s grandson, has recently joined the family business and is looking after the livestock, feeding and the arable aspects of the business.

In October 2012, David Baker commissioned the development of a bespoke, state of the art cutting and meat processing facility in the nearby town of Daventry. Faraday Fine foods processes all the cattle produced from the farms for the food service sector.

As well as being farm assured and Red Tractor assured, Onley Grounds Farm is one of the few farms in the country to be Freedom Foods Accredited (RSPCA Approved) and they grow a large proportion of their feed on the farm, made fresh for the cattle every day to ensure their beef is tender, flavoursome and of a consistently high quality time after time.

Engaging with our local community

Since 2016, Bidfood Bicester has raised nearly £5,000 for various charities including Mind, Cancer Research, Dreamflights and Hospice UK. We’ve also given over 200 Christmas presents to the Bicester Foodbank so that less fortunate children will have gifts for Christmas and we donate a substantial amount of food to the Bicester Foodbank on a regular basis.
