One Water
One Water is a UK-based spring water brand founded with a simple but powerful mission: to help fund clean water projects in developing countries.
Inspired by a photo in the Guardian newspaper of a young girl sitting next to a padlocked tap in Nairobi, Kenya, founder Duncan Goose decided to put the skills he’d learned in his marketing career to better use, and founded One Water. The idea was simple – to sell bottled water and use the proceeds to fund safe, clean water projects for people living in extreme poverty. You can find out more at onewater.org.uk
Over the last 20 years, in partnership with The One Foundation, One Water has raised over £30m for safe, clean water projects, changing the lives of over 5 million people, mainly in Sub-Saharan Africa.
One Water was a founding UK B Corporation and has recently recertified, attaining the highest score, globally in soft drinks! Customers can choose from a range of packaging formats based on what is best for them for their own sustainability goals, e.g. increasing circularity or reducing carbon footprint.
All of their products are 100% recyclable and are made from as much recycled content as possible. For example, their PET bottles are made from 100% recycled plastic and their new Tetra Pak cartons are made from 88% renewable raw materials. One Water also supports a forestry project in Malawi which works with local communities to support climate resilience and water access through planting a variety of trees, from fruit trees to agroforestry trees.
By combining environmental responsibility with social impact, One Water represents a holistic model of sustainability — enabling you to Do One Good Thing when you buy a bottle of water.
Hip Pop
At Hip Pop, we craft our sodas in the UK, using real fruit and natural ingredients. Our mission is simple: to make sure every step of our production process is sustainable and responsible.
Our production is based at our BRC-accredited Hereford farm, which operates at 100% carbon neutrality. We generate all the energy we need through Anaerobic Digestion, a system that transforms our production waste into renewable power and reusable CO2, closing the loop.
We’re also proud to partner with FareShare, ensuring any surplus product goes to support vulnerable communities and fight food waste. On top of that, we fund the Imagination Library, helping empower children by giving them books from an early age.
Clipper
Clipper Tea has a strong track record in tackling sustainability across sourcing, production, and packaging. They became the UK’s first Fairtrade tea company back in 1994, and today are the world’s largest buyer of Fairtrade tea’, supporting over 114,000 producers and their families globally. They are also committed to organic production: all new products are organic-certified, which means no pesticides and more wildlife on the farms.
In 2018 Clipper transitioned to tea bags that are unbleached, plant-based, non-GM and fully biodegradable (sealed with a PLA bio-material rather than fossil-fuel plastics). More recently they invested over £1 million to redesign their larger packs to be fully recyclable, eliminating inner foil bags and switching to materials suitable for kerbside recycling.
Their factory is carbon-neutral, recycles about 98% of its waste, and uses tea-waste to generate green energy.
