Ingredients
- Farmstead Red Tractor beef hand diced 1kg
- Everyday Favourites unsalted butter 50g
- Sliced onions 800g
- Bay leaves 2g
- Thyme 3g
- Soft brown sugar 15g
- Everyday Favourites salt 4g
- Tomato puree 30g
- Everyday Favourites plain white flour 30g
- Wholegrain mustard 40ml
- Beef stock mix 10g
- Beer 660ml
- Julienne fries 1.5kg
Method
- Heat a large pan and sauté the beef until browned, drain over colander and reserve the juices.
- Add the butter and melt to the same pan and cook the onions until soft and caramelised.
- Then add the bay leaf, thyme, sugar, salt, tomato puree and cook out for 2-3 minutes on a low heat.
- Add the flour and continue to cook out then add the mustard, beef stock, beer and the beef back into the pan.
- Cover and cook for 2-3 hours or until the beef is tender and the sauce has reduced.
- Serve with fries.
