Read the short guide for more details, but in the meantime, here is some of our headline money saving ideas:

  • Our top money saving tip for cheese

Achieve more flavour from cheesy dishes but use less cheese by using a mature cheddar in your recipes. The richness of flavour a mature cheddar has will match it and it’s very difficult to tell the difference despite using less cheese!

  • Stay on trend but cut costs

If you’re looking to reduce your meat on your menu, could you consider popular Mediterranean dishes like kebabs or gyros? These dishes tend to use less meat as you bulk out the dish with salad and bread.

  • Using frozen can reduce waste and prep time

By choosing frozen fish, it’s ready to use, requires little to no prep, reduces waste and it is easy to serve. You can also effectively portion control and it makes it easier to control the costs you have associated to a dish.

  • Utilise menu psychology to premiumise your menu

A simple example to do this is by using wholemeal bread on your menu which adds value to your offer because of how it is perceived. You can really lean on this with ease on your menu descriptions by saying things like “a good source of fibre” and “leaves you fuller for longer”.
