According to conventional wisdom, no one should have been able to plant vineyards in the rugged foothills of the Awatere Valley, an area characterised by intense sunlight, strong winds and highly variable temperatures. Thankfully, Peter Yealands saw a potential in the region that had previously been overlooked, and within six years of starting cultivation, had overcome the Herculean task of sculpting this wilderness into a terroir where vines could thrive

Da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci Winery was founded in 1961, when thirty small winegrowers joined forces, combining resources and a shared passion for winemaking to build a single cellar. Since then, the winery has expanded from 70 hectares to almost 750, and now includes over 200 partners, all of whom share the same, ongoing love of Tuscan history and wine

El Esteco

Hidden within the Calchaquí Valley’s lush vegetation, rivers and rocky mountains, you will find an unexpected stretch of desert, nestled in a valley at an altitude of 1,800 metres. It is in the heart of this valley where El Esteco lies, stretching across 1,000 acres of vineyards subject to ever-present sunshine and a surprisingly broad temperature range that is perfect for the cultivation of wines

Chateau Ste. Michelle

Chateau Ste. Michelle pioneered vinifera grape-growing in Washington State, directly challenging the previous concept that great American wine could only come from California. Since 1967, the winery has been producing top-class European varietal wines under the Chateau Ste. Michelle label, all of which highlight the quality, style and expression of their Washington State vineyards. The winery combines an ongoing pursuit of innovation – particularly evident in their many joint ventures

Hattingley Valley

A family-owned business in the heart of Hampshire, Hattingley Valley have been winning international acclaim and awards ever since their first vintage in 2013. Their English wine project began in 2008 and has developed into a custom-built, eco-friendly winery, farming some 24 hectares of vines across two separate sites. The first winery in the UK to adopt solar power, Hattingley Valley is recognised as a top estate abroad, and looks to be gaining just as much recognition across its native land
