This is an exciting time to joining Bidfood Salisbury depot as we are undergoing an extensive upgrade of our site, to increase our capacity and improve our facilities. Bidfood is also investing in the latest delivery routing systems and customer delivery technology.

We are seeking an experienced and successful Transport Manager to play a key role in our Transport department. At Bidfood Salisbury, we recognise that the quality of our Transport teams is instrumental to our success. Our Transport Manager needs to be able to recruit, induct, train, mentor, coach and engage their teams in order to inspire them to be the best they can be.

You will be able to build strong external and internal relationships with all stakeholders to ensure effective team work and collaborative approach. You will manage the daily Transport operation through a team of supervisors, ensuring that all legal, safety, service, people and cost targets are met or exceeded.

You will be accountable for the Transport department budget, as well as delivering high standards of legal compliance, safety, team engagement, and customer service.

You will ensure that all company assets are well maintained, including; cages, commercial vehicles and relevant records are maintained in order to conform to legislation as well as maintaining all documentation relating to tachographs and drivers hours.

What you need to succeed:

• A proven track record of people management and development, you will be able to demonstrate good cost and compliance control in a similar environment.
• Be personally adaptable to and be able to lead your team through change.
• A holder of the International CPC qualification is essential.
• Experience in a fast-moving food distribution environment, managing 50 employees or more is you will also have good computer literacy skills and be flexible in order to meet the needs of the business.
