General Manager – Bicester

Are you looking for the next challenge? Do you have what it takes to be a General Manager at our Bicester Depot?

We’re looking to appoint a General Manager who will take the lead and have primary accountability for maximising sales and profit targets, as well as optimising costs, processes and efficiencies and employee engagement to enable the delivery of the depot’s business targets.

This role will give you the opportunity to manage all aspects of the depot in line with the agreed business plan.

We pride ourselves in providing Service Excellence for our customers, so we need a GM that will champion the Bidfood brand, vision and values to help us deliver this – all the while providing an inspirational and motivational leadership for the depot.

Your key accountabilities as GM will be:

 

  • Delivering successful revenue, costs and profit targets
  • Managing the Sales effort, including Field and Telesales teams. Comfortable to own large customer relationships and generate increased sales
  • Leading and motivating the senior depot team in a positive, motivational and structured way
  • Drive the depot culture
  • Optimise all key transport management KPIs relating to delivery, legal requirements, audits and accident prevention
  • Manage all aspects of purchasing, stock management, and control to achieve agreed targets
  • Manage and deliver on all health and safety, site safety, transport compliance, food safety, environmental and security objectives and seek to make continual improvements to core standards, processes and practices

 

We’re looking for an experienced senior manager, with strong leadership skills. You will have :

 

  • Operational Management experience in a distribution environment, delivering products to independent wholesale customers
  • Transport experience
  • Experience of profit and loss accountability
  • Experience of operating at a senior level within a complex, medium to large company
  • Evidence of driving change management
  • Experience in managing budgets and costs
  • Experience in continuous improvement
  • Experience in delivering exceptional service to benefit our customers
