National Account Manager – Homebased

Bidfood is a leading wholesale food distributor and the preferred supplier for over 60,000 customers across the UK, ranging from NHS Hospitals and care homes to schools, restaurants to pubs and everything in between.

The National Account business is sectorised across a number of different trade channels and strong knowledge of the wholesale business will be required, as the candidate will be working across all trading sectors within Bidfood. A new vacancy has arisen in the Free Trade Multiple Sector, giving you the opportunity to join a hugely successful team.

Reporting to, and supported by the Business Development Controller for the Free Trade Multiple Sector, the successful applicant will manage a portfolio of multi million pound consortia customers across sectors, such as education, healthcare & leisure.

 

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and attributes:

  • Proven account manager with excellent track record of client management, ideally with demonstrable working knowledge of consortia
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel to advanced level, Word, Power Point, Outlook
  • Excellent commercial acumen and verbal, written and presenting skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively to Board level
  • Be decisive, assertive, persuasive and motivational with excellent negotiating skills

 

You will be innovative and demonstrate originality and creativity in finding solutions and meeting the needs of the clients within the trade channels in your portfolio. You will have the ability to develop and communicate sound commercial arguments, and have a thorough understanding of the cost drivers and their impact on both the Company and the specific client’s needs whilst working alongside our regional Key Account Manager (KAM) teams, supporting business objectives growth & development of key accounts at unit level.

The role will involve lots of driving, occasional overnight stays and a lot of hard work, but will be hugely rewarding for the right candidate.
