Business development manager

The Manchester Depot forms an integral part of Bidvest Foodservice. We are currently looking to fill a new opportunity for the role of Business Development Manager.

This will be a key role within the Manchester Sales Team. As part of the team you will be responsible for securing new sustainable Freetrade business across individual POD areas.  A large proportion of your time will be spent prospecting new business – a pure hunter role.

The aim of this role is to drive New Business across the North West by targeting large Freetrade key accounts.

Your main duties will include converting our competitors’ larger Freetrade accounts to Bidvest Foodservice. You will be instrumental in strategic planning with the Field Sales Team to deliver double digit sales and margin growth. You will work closely with the specialist teams to ensure that you maximise the potential in every account.

To be successful in this role you will need :

  • A proven track record in substantial new business wins
  • A self starter, highly motivated with a desire to succeed
  • Strong organisational and account management skills
  • Good level of product knowledge
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Able to communicate at all levels
  • Profit Study Process / management
