Premier Foods Easter

 

To help celebrate Easter Premier Foods has launched a Bisto retro tin. This tin will be available with every purchase of Bisto Gravy Granules for Meat 1.9kg.
In addition to the retro tin we are running an exclusive competition with Bidfood throughout April, May and June. Three lucky people will find a winning ticket in their retro tin. These tickets will entitle the caterer to receive £1000 in high street vouchers.

 

Easter provides caterers with the opportunity to encourage a significant rise in sales and footfall:

  • Encourage consumers to increase their spend by creating set meal deals such as offering two courses for a fixed price.
  • This will prompt diners to sample what is on offer and potentially increase the probability of them ordering dessert.
  • Vary your menu offering each day throughout the promotion period or introduce a loyalty scheme to encourage uptake.
  • Introduce more premium dishes that will improve gross profit, such as more expensive cuts of meat.
  • Encourage families and friends to dine out by offering dishes that can be shared. Starters like antipasti and garlic bread or desserts such as a pavlova or tarte tatin are great dishes that can easily be shared at a large table or between two.

 

Premier Foods commissioned some extensive independent research carried out by Cambridge Direction to find out how caterers and consumers viewed Easter.

Here is a snapshot of what we discovered when we commissioned our research:

Speaking to caterers

  • 81% of caterers cite Easter as a key opportunity to attract new customers
  • 25% of caterers are currently seeing sales spikes of over 7% on Easter Sunday

 

  • Mark specific Easter dishes or create a special dedicated menu to highlight your occasion
  • Make sure you include seasonal recipes on your special menu, for example, salmon and cod will be coming into season in time for Easter
  • Use accompaniments to ‘upsell’ the meal experience with extra seasonal vegetables or gravy, for example
  • Create meal deals such as three-courses for a set price with a soft drink or glass of house wine
  • Products such as Bisto bouillon can be used to transform the cheapest cuts of meat into flavourful dishes because of the way it flavours while tenderising the meat
