About the role

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the tasks within the warehouse cold store operation. You will also be responsible for the management and development of the team ensuring that the departmental and depot targets are met.

Effective team deployment and development is vital to ensure the warehouse operation provides the highest levels of operational efficiencies, service excellence and productivity within the business. Service to internal customers i.e. the smooth running of the freezer and chill will be a key focus for this role.

All warehouse assets need to be closely controlled to keep costs to a minimum and you will work closely with operations and central colleagues to ensure internal service standards are as high as external ones.

Your success will be measured in the achievement of these service standards, as well as commercial objectives covering cost and stock-loss control, product availability, credit reduction and a wide range of people factors such as training and attendance.

Food warehousing and distribution experience is desirable. Positive attitude, flexibility, commitment and a desire to drive improvements is essential. You will be an excellent planner and communicator; skilled at working to both tight budgets and tight timescales.
