Warehouse Operative (Nights) – Chepstow

This is an exciting time to be part of Bidfood as we are about to open our Chepstow depot. With a number of teams and depots within our network working together, we deliver service excellence to our customers via over 1,500 deliveries each week! At Bidfood we value our people and recognise the amazing work they do by supporting their development now and into the future. We want to have passionate people working with us in Chepstow who are ready for their next exciting challenge!

This is very much a team role – you’ll be working nightshifts to get customer orders ready for our drivers to take out. You’ll, pick and load customer orders for essential food and other products, and check-off orders. It will be up to you to make sure things are, accurate and well-presented to avoid damaged stock, so being numerate and having a good attention to detail is going to be essential.

We’ll give you a uniform, and a headset so you can easily listen to instruction on our voice controlled headset system for customer orders as you move around the warehouse. And we will make sure you have the right equipment and PPE to be comfortable working in the three different temperature zones: ambient, chilled and frozen.

Ideally, you’ll have some experience of working in a food warehouse and perhaps even a LLOP or FLT licence – but it’s not essential. More importantly, you’ll be a team-player and a hard-worker, who understands the importance of following health and safety rules. The job has a real physical element to it as you’ll be picking and stacking food and non food items can weigh up to 20kg on every shift.

We won’t throw you in at the deep end. We’ll train you on the systems we use, show you round our tech, make sure you’re up-to-date with your Health and Safety training and run you through the things you need to know. And if you want to progress, we’ll give you the training you need with plenty of opportunities for you to take your career onwards and upwards.

If this is you, we look forward to hearing from you.
