Transport Supervisor

Benefits: pension, 25 days holiday pa, childcare vouchers, personal accident scheme, employee discounts

There’s every chance you’ll have eaten our food, so why not share our success and come and work for us? Bidvest Foodservice is a leading wholesale food distributor and the preferred supplier for over 60,000 customers across the UK, ranging from pubs to schools, from restaurants to care homes and everything in between.

From Lands End to John O’Groats, whether our customers want just a teaspoon or a full range of catering supplies, we’ll supply their needs. We work as a team to provide every food option from quality ingredients to finished meals, including a number of own brand ranges as well as all the big brands and regional specialities. We believe in our food, and we know that our people behind the scenes are so very important in our success.

At Bidvest Foodservice, we recognise that the quality of our Transport teams is instrumental to our success.  Our Transport Manager needs to be able to recruit, induct, train, mentor and engage their teams, to inspire them to be the best they can be.

You’ll help with the running of the daily operation and performance of the Transport department in order to provide the expected service to internal and external customers within budget. In doing so, you’ll make sure the depot fleet is compliant with all relevant legislation and all goods are delivered to designated delivery points in the timescale required.

You’ll be part of the Supervisory team to achieve effective teamwork within the Transport Department and that all Transport employees adhere to the required standards of performance.

You’ll play your part helping the Transport Manger control the department budget and control costs, as well as helping to ensure standards of customer service exceed what is required by the company.

You’ll be involved in maintaining all Company equipment, including commercial vehicles, to a high standard and make sure all relevant records are maintained in order to conform to legislation as well as maintaining all documentation relating to tachographs and driver hours.

To be successful in this role you’ll have very strong people management and development skills and be able to build strong relationships with other departments. You will also have good computer literacy skills and be flexible in order to meet the needs of the business. If this is you, we look forward to hearing from you.
