At Bidfood, we recognise that the quality of our transport teams is instrumental to our success. Our Transport Supervisors need to be able to recruit, induct, train, mentor and engage their teams, to inspire them to be the best they can be.
You’ll manage the daily operation and performance of the transport department in order to provide the expected service to internal and external customers. In doing so, you’ll make sure the depot fleet is compliant with all relevant legislation and all goods are delivered to designated delivery points in the timescale required.
You’ll ensure effective teamwork within the Transport Department and that all transport employees adhere to the required standards of performance.
You’ll maintain all Company equipment, including commercial vehicles, to a high standard and make sure all relevant records are maintained in order to conform to legislation as well as maintaining all documentation relating to tachographs and driver hours as well as increasing driver engagement and improving the standards and communication in the department.
To be successful in this role you’ll have very strong people management and development skills and be able to build strong relationships with other departments, with experience in a fast-moving food distribution environment, you will also have good computer literacy skills and be flexible in order to meet the needs of the business.
