At Bidfood the Transport Team is pivotal in ensuring our customers’ high expectations in terms of service level are met consistently. To that end you will need to demonstrate strong customer service skills and an ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally whilst displaying a ‘can do’ positive attitude.

Working alongside the other Transport team members you will be responsible for ensuring our legal compliance with regards to our Operator’s Licence by ensuring our drivers adhere to both working time directive and EU drivers’ hours’ legislation, our vehicles are roadworthy and available for both safety inspections and planned maintenance.

You will be responsible along with the rest of the team for managing the daily operation and performance of the department. A key part of your role is to be able to train, coach and mentor drivers and where necessary participate in investigations and disciplinary processes.

To be successful in the role you will need to be able to demonstrate people management skills and possess the requisite experience in a fast-moving food distribution environment, an analytic mind and a willingness to both adapt to change and challenge convention.
