Transport Supervisor Inverness

Are you looking for your next challenge? We are looking for a focused and driven individual to operate a busy and challenging Transport Department at our Inverness depot.

From John O’ Groats to Pitlochry, from Skye to Aberdeen, whether our customers want just a teaspoon or a full range of catering supplies, we’ll supply their needs. We work as a team to provide every food option from quality ingredients to finished meals, including a number of own brand ranges as well as all the big brands and regional specialties. We believe in our food, and we know that our people behind the scenes are so very important in our success.

At Bidfood, we recognise that the quality of our Transport teams is instrumental to our success. Our Transport Supervisor needs to be able to recruit, induct, train, mentor and engage their teams, to inspire them to be the best they can be.

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will manage the daily operation and performance of the Transport department in order to provide the expected service to internal and external customers within budget. In doing so, you’ll make sure the depot fleet is compliant with all relevant legislation and all goods are delivered to designated delivery points in the timescale required.

You’ll ensure effective teamwork within the Transport Department and that all Transport employees adhere to the required standards of performance.

You’ll supervise and assist in the maintenance of all Company equipment, including commercial vehicles, to a high standard and make sure all relevant records are maintained in order to conform to legislation as well as maintaining all documentation relating to tachographs and driver hours.

To be successful in this role you’ll have very strong people management and development skills and be able to build strong relationships with other departments. A holder of the CPC qualification is desirable, but not essential at present, and with experience in a fast-moving food distribution environment, you will also have good computer literacy skills and be flexible in order to meet the needs of the business.

If this is you, we look forward to hearing from you.

Benefits

Pension, 28 days holiday pa, healthcare cash plan, personal accident scheme, employee discounts
