At Bidfood, we recognise that the quality of our Transport teams is instrumental to our success. Our Transport supervisor needs to be able to recruit, induct, train, mentor and engage their teams, to inspire them to be the best they can be.

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing the day to day operation of the Transport Department, ensuring driver departure and return is managed and additional deliveries allocated where necessary.

Your shift will predominately be working Saturday 4am -12 midday, Sunday 3am – 11am and Monday to Wednesday 11am – 7pm working a total of 40 hours per week.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that all reported vehicle defects are actioned promptly. You will ensure Company Health and Safety procedures are carried out and that all drivers adhere to driving legislation at all times. Your role will also be responsible for maintaining holiday and manpower levels to ensure the service level to our customers is maintained. You will, in addition, have the ability to deal with both internal and external customers and also deal with any employee issues when required.

You will be computer literate, have excellent communication skills, and be an approachable team player.

To be successful in this role you’ll have very strong people management and development skills and be able to build strong relationships with other departments. You will also have experience in managing vehicle and driver compliance to ensure the department maintains the expected legal standards.
