We are seeking a Transport Shift Manager to assist the Transport Manager in the smooth running of the busy transport department.

At Bidfood, we recognise that the quality of our Transport team is instrumental to our success. Our Transport Shift Manager needs to be able to effectively manage route planning, attendance and training for all drivers.

You will oversee the daily operation and performance of the Transport department in order to provide the expected service to internal and external customers within budget. In doing so, you will support the Transport Manager in ensuring the depot fleet is compliant with all relevant legislation and all goods are delivered to designated delivery points in the timescale required.

You will effectively communicate the importance of service excellence with all drivers and ensure that they are fully trained in all aspects of their role. You will play an important role in ensuring effective teamwork within the department is achieved and that all transport employees adhere to the required standards of performance.

You will monitor and ensure that all legal requirements are being met, including the maintenance of all documentation relating to Tachographs and driver hours.

To be successful in this role you will have supervisory/managerial experience of working within a transport environment, particularly within the fast-moving food distribution industry. You will be someone with an excellent team ethos, who is able to lead by example. CPC holder preferred.
