Stock Team Manager – Manchester

At Bidfood, we recognise that the quality of our Stock team is instrumental to our success. We are currently looking for a Stock Team Manager to join our team in our Manchester depot. Reporting into the General Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day recording and monitoring of stock, ensuring that employees are motivated and working safely toward a common goal.

You will manage all aspects of the count PI cycles in line with Company guidelines, monitoring all date sensitive stock daily and detailing appropriate information accurately on relevant central replenishment at risk databases. You will also be responsible for managing the replenishment/buying of stock ensuring adequate availability to meet customer demand, as well as managing ghost stock, quarantine compliance and conducting quality investigations to identify root causes of customer credits.

You will be able to lead a team and create an engaging environment driving performance through a balanced approach of recognition and managing performance against agreed KPI’s. You will set clear expectations for your team including KPI, safety and team behaviours, setting annual objectives which will be received through regular one to ones and annual appraisals. You’ll be a strong communicator, able to communicate with people at all levels including different departments and the Depot leadership team, as well as delivering and managing briefs to the team. You’ll be responsible for ensuring full departmental compliance through regular monitoring of all QHSE and Sustainability standards, focussing on team wellbeing in accordance with the relevant policies.

To be successful in this role you’ll have very strong people management and development skills and be able to consistently apply HR standards specifically around recruitment, absence management, performance, conduct, safety and service.

With previous experience of managing large volumes of date sensitive stock holding, preferably within a fast-moving food warehousing and distribution environment, you will also have good computer literacy skills and a good level of verbal and written English and Numeracy skills.
