PA to General Manger, Slough

About us

Bidfood is a great place to work; we’re a leading wholesale food distributor covering the whole of the UK, the preferred supply partner for over 60,000 customers and our business is still growing. We have a permanent opportunity for a PA to provide administrative support to the GM and Senior Management teams across Slough and Basingstoke.

A bit about the role

In the role of Personal Assistant to the General Manager (GM) you’ll proactively support the GM and their senior team to ensure their time and work activities are effectively scheduled. You will be responsible for providing full, accurate and confidential administrative support.

Your role will involve amongst other things diary, e-mail and telephone message management, the development of presentations & reports, travel and accommodation arrangement, minute/action taking in meetings/conferences, booking of meetings, conferences and hospitality. Although the role reports to the General Manager you may also have other user streams on a part-time basis and be required to provide ad hoc administrative support to the senior management of the Slough and Basingstoke depots.

The role of PA to the GM will involve multi-functional working with Sales and Operations, as well as external customers and suppliers. Therefore, you will need to have excellent communication skills both verbally and written, and be able to communicate effectively to all levels, both inside and outside the business. You will be a strong team player who understands the benefits of being part of a team and use your knowledge to share best practices across the teams, but at the same time can equally work on your own initiative and with the minimum of supervision.

A bit about you

To succeed in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate a firm understanding of the role of a Personal Assistant. You will need to possess advanced PC skills in the main Microsoft Packages – PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook. A key role requirement will be fast, accurate touch typing and audio typing skills, with excellent grammar and written communication ability.

To be successful in your application you will need to be proactive and confident with a proven track record of strong administration, organisation and prioritisation skills.

You will need to demonstrate a professional and assertive communication style, and that you are able to influence your peers and members of the management team, as well as all other levels of the business.

You will care about your role and the impact it has on the wider team’s day to day activities, a level of flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business, and sometimes you will need to dare to use your initiative and decision-making skills to solve problems “on the run” or to tight deadlines.

You’ll have a good eye for detail and self-confidence, and it goes without saying that you will need a very strong sense of confidentiality.

If this sounds like you, we look forward to hearing from you!

Benefits

Pension, 25 days holiday per annum, healthcare cash plan, childcare vouchers, personal accident scheme, employee discounts
