Junior BizTalk Developer – Scarisbrick

We have a great opportunity for you to join our team as a Junior BizTalk Developer, based at our Scarisbrick (Southport) office.

This role is part of the IT E-Commerce team at Bidfood, who are responsible for implementing and supporting EDI solutions for customers and suppliers, BizTalk interfaces, and projects where BizTalk is the selected middleware platform. Also to provide operational support for the BizTalk platform and development of BizTalk 360 for this purpose.

You will be responsible for the development of new and support of existing customer EDI integration solutions to meet both the business need and customer requirements.
You will also be expected to provide technical support and guidance using their technical expertise and knowledge as required.
You will also be required to ensure the BizTalk EDI platform operates effectively and efficiently in order to meet agreed service levels.
You will also be responsible for supporting the Biztalk developer with improving operations and maintenance processes and procedures in-line with best practice.
You will manage, support and execute the deployment of new code changes including patches, upgrades and releases, whilst updating and maintaining the automated regression test suite, to ensure the BizTalk platform runs as per best practice.

  • You have a fantastic opportunity to develop their Biztalk skills and knowledge and be an integral member of the E-commerce team.
  • You will need to demonstrate recent experience and knowledge of working on BizTalk integration projects either in a B2C or B2B environment.
  • You will be capable of translating business requirements into technical specifications for design and development within Biztalk and ensure all solutions developed are adequately documented and adhere to development standards.
  • You will possess technical knowledge and experience of BizTalk 2013 and preferably Biztalk 2016 and BizTalk360, cXML/XML/XSLT and other flat file formats, Web services and HTTP, HTTPS and AS2 protocols. Net framework 4.0, MVC experience and above, Visual Studio 2012, SQL server 2012 (defining database tables and stored procedures). Knowledge of Team Foundation Server (visual studio online) and GIT would be advantageous.
  • You will be capable of managing tasks through to completion and within agreed timescales.
  • You will have experience of software development methodologies including Agile/Scrum methodologies to support the software development process.
  • You will demonstrate excellent communication skills to ensure they are able to communicate effectively with customers, 3rd parties, business users and operational support teams.
  • You will be self-motivated, able to learn new skills, and adapt to different situations, be approachable able to interact with others and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative, with flexibility and resilience to achieve defined objectives.
  • Key to this role will be demonstrating the effective use of your technical knowledge and expertise to give guidance to the IT and the business to contribute to the E-Commerce roadmap and support the development and introduction of features and functionality of the BizTalk EDI platform.
