Events Crew – Worcester

There’s every chance you’ll have eaten our food, so why not share our success and come and work for us? Bidfood is a leading wholesale food distributor and the preferred supplier for over 60,000 customers across the UK, ranging from pubs to schools, from restaurants to care homes and everything in between.

From Lands End to John O’Groats, whether our customers want just a teaspoon or a full range of catering supplies, we’ll supply their needs. We work as a team to provide every food option from quality ingredients to finished meals, including a number of own brand ranges as well as all the big brands and regional specialties. We believe in our food, and we know that our people are so very important in our success.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly self-motivated individual, with a passion for the events/exhibitions industry, to join our small team and help support the ‘not so routine‘ day to day management of our company’s events.

As an Events Crew member you will mainly be based at our brand new warehouse in Worcester but may be required to support the rest of the team at events around the country. The daily duties normally include:

  • Loading and unloading of event kit
  • Managing online orders and distributing sales literature via a courier service
  • Logistics of our portable exhibition equipment
  • Supporting in the design and pre-building of exhibition stands
  • Driving company vehicles to deliver and collect event equipment
  • Occasional early starts / late finishes, with overtime paid in lieu time
  • Providing support at on-site events, with occasional overnighters
  • General upkeep of the warehouse
  • Stock control
  • Managing & allocating incoming deliveries
  • Maintenance & cleanliness of event equipment

This is a physically demanding role so the candidate will need to understand the importance of the correct heavy lifting procedures in a work place.

We’re looking for someone who has experience of working to tight deadlines, ideally with an events or exhibitions background. You will have good organisational skills and a strong eye for detail, and be able to communicate effectively at all levels with internal and external customers. You will have a creative, diplomatic and confident approach and will be a team player, used to working in a busy and challenging environment.

You will need to have an understanding of computer systems and a full UK Driving Licence.

If you think this job is for you, we would really like to hear from you.

Benefits

Pension, 25 days holiday per year (plus public holidays), healthcare cash plan, childcare vouchers, personal accident insurance, employee discounts, free parking.
