Event Support Manager – Worcester

There’s every chance you’ll have eaten our food, so why not share our success and come and work for us? Bidfood is a leading wholesale food distributor and the preferred supplier for over 60,000 customers across the UK, ranging from pubs to schools, from restaurants to care homes and everything in between.

From Lands End to John O’Groats, whether our customers want just a teaspoon or a full range of catering supplies, we’ll supply their needs. We work as a team to provide every food option from quality ingredients to finished meals, including a number of own brand ranges as well as all the big brands and regional specialties. We believe in our food, and we know that our people are so very important in our success.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly self-motivated creative individual to join our small team and help support the ‘not so routine‘ day to day management of our company’s events and AV production.

As an Events & Technical Support Manager you will be based at our brand new warehouse in Worcester and will be mainly responsible for helping to support the team in the preparation, content and delivery of each event. The daily duties normally include:

  • Day to day management of the warehouse team, ensuring tasks specified by the Events Controller are carried out.
  • Filming, editing and the production of company videos, presentation slides and graphics for internal and external use.
  • Providing physical support before, during and after events, with the building and de-rigging of sets/exhibition stands, and the running of conferences.
  • Occasional early starts and late finishes/overnighters, with overtime paid in lieu

This can be a physically demanding role, so the candidate will need to understand the importance of correct heavy lifting procedures in a work place.

What does this mean for you?

It means you can expect an excellent working environment, Flexible working hours, stability, development opportunities and a great salary and benefits package. We value all our employees and over half of our workforce has more than 5 years’ service!

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who has experience of working to tight deadlines, ideally with an events or exhibitions background. You will have good organisational skills and a strong eye for detail, brand awareness and be able to communicate effectively at all levels with internal and external customers.

You will have a creative, diplomatic and confident approach and will be a team player, used to working in a busy and challenging environment.

Finally, you will need to have good knowledge of Windows or Apple presentation software and previous experience with filming and video / sound editing. You will have an understanding of general computer systems, a full UK Driving Licence and be flexible with working hours as early starts and late finishes are sometimes required to meet the demands of the business.

If you think this job is for you, we would really like to hear from you.

Benefits

Competitive salary, pension, 25 days holiday per year (plus public holidays), healthcare cash plan, childcare vouchers, personal accident insurance, employee discounts, free parking.
