Digital Systems Manager – Homebased

About the role

You will be the technical product owner for Bidfood Direct (Online Shop, Mobile App) and OPRI products. As the technical lead for these products you’ll provide direction on all technical aspects of systems development, collaborating with internal stakeholders & external teams to manage the IT pipeline, priorities and ensure the successful delivery of projects, features and enhancements as per the IT technology strategy, Bid One product roadmap and digital business strategy.

You’ll be responsible for leading the implementation of Bidfood Direct software releases assisting with User Acceptance Testing to ensure the software release is fully signed off and handed over to business stakeholders.

You will have responsibility for leading a small team of business analysts and represent IT at the B2B OSG meetings and lead project OSG’s as appropriate.

You’ll be managing the software development process from initial requirements and analysis, development, execution of the full testing lifecycle, relevant documentation, early life support and service transition.

This role will be key to ensuring that Bidfood develops our B2B e-commerce platforms to achieve our targets for electronic trading with our customers.

About you

You will have worked in a similar role or are maybe looking to develop your career within IT, and be able to demonstrate your capability to perform the role of technical product owner. Ideally you’ll have some knowledge and hands on experience of Bidfood IT ecommerce systems – Bidfood Direct, OPRI and Mobile App and / or a broader knowledge and awareness of ecommerce digital technologies.

You’ll be able to demonstrate your abilities to lead a small team of business analysts, work effectively and collaboratively with other technical specialists, users and stakeholders. You’ll have a strong analytical and customer centric approach to be able to translate business problems, scope and define technical requirements to develop solutions. Ideally you’ll also be able to demonstrate your experience and / or ability to manage the delivery of new product developments i.e. features, projects, software releases and have a knowledge and /or experience of the full product test and development lifecycle using Agile project delivery & software development methodologies.

You’ll demonstrate strong influencing, negotiation, persuasive skills and be able to motivate others, very good time management and will be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
You will ideally have a relevant IT and / or Business related degree or IT qualification.
