Deputy Transport Manager – Bicester

At Bidfood, we recognise that the quality of our Transport teams is instrumental to our success. Our deputy transport manager will support the Transport manager with particular focus in Routing, Training new starters, Transport legal compliance and supporting the transport manager deliver service excellence

You’ll ensure that the driver despatch and communication in the morning is of the highest standard, all RTW are completed prior to the driver resuming duties.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring that we maximise or administrative functions, including Microlise tracking thus ensuring that our driver are following the planned routes with maximum efficiencies to fall in line with WTD requirements.

You’ll make sure all relevant records are maintained in order to conform to legislation as well as maintaining all documentation relating to tachographs and driver hours.

You will oversee the induction of all new starters during the probation period and the completion of the 3,7,11 and lead driver sign off before allocating new starters to the supervisor teams.

To be successful in this role you’ll have very strong people management and development skills and be able to build strong relationships with other departments. A holder of the CPC qualification and with experience in a fast-moving food distribution environment, you will also have good computer literacy skills and be flexible in order to meet the needs of the business.
