Customer Procurement Manager – Slough BSC

Corporate Procurement is a core central function within Bidfood. We support Bidfood with winning new business, saving our customers and well as sourcing products and completing range analysis, category review on behalf of customers as well as prospective customers

As a Customer Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing one of a number of sectors within the business such as hotels/restaurants, travel and leisure and healthcare. You will cover both freetrade and National customers and you will be in a supplier facing, as well as customer facing role so the ability to build strategic relationships is paramount.

Your role will be to manage a sector from a procurement perspective, which will include managing tenders, sourcing products for tenders, as well as reducing the tender basket spend of the basket to support Bidfood in winning that business. You will be required to negotiate supplier rebates on behalf of the customer, examine range rationalisation opportunities, and undertake cost saving initiatives on behalf of the customer. You will be required to support the customer with their sourcing aspirations, such as sourcing British products and working with SME suppliers You will also be required to present product innovation opportunities to the customer where required. You will be required to manage the customer price reviews and present commodity market updates and support with price reviews from a procurement perspective.

The role of a Customer Procurement Manager is extremely varied and requires a number of different skills to succeed. You will need to be a strong negotiator that has sound commercial acumen, with the ability to present to customers and manage successful customer relationships, as well as work cross functionally with the category management team, contract and tenders team, National accounts team, freetrade sales team, marketing team and finance team.

We are looking to recruit a high calibre individual who is entrepreneurial, with the energy and drive to maximise the growth opportunities of our customers.

You must be able to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and above all be able to multi task in a timely and efficient manner. Purchasing or sales experience is required, preferably within the foodservice/ wholesale sector.

A full driving licence & the willingness to travel will be needed too.
