Category Development Manager – Slough BSC

As part of the Bidfood brands team, the Category Development Manager is responsible for supporting the execution of strategic activities directed at developing sales growth for the Bidfood category brands including Farmstead Meat, Black+White Coffee as well as Catering Supplies, our hygiene, disposables and equipment brand.

The role requires working closely with the Bidfood brands marketing team and the Bidfood sales team to raise the profile of the Bidfood category brands within the business, identify opportunities within our customer base to grow our sales and to support the sales team to successfully achieve the budgeted growth aspiration for these brands.

Working under the direction of the Category Brand Manager, you will undertake projects to develop sales opportunities in specific territories and customer channels from existing and prospect customers. Making use of transactional data and a variety of information resources, you will identify these opportunities and develop leads. In addition you’ll be responsible to equip our depot sales teams with the knowledge and information required to successfully develop sales for these brands in their territories.

Based centrally at our Slough Business Support Centre, this support will come in the form of tele-canvassing, and so strong telephony skills are a prerequisite to success, but will also include working on-site at selected depots, as well as accompanying the sales team to call on customers when required.

To be successful in this role you must bring a real passion for success and be a strong communicator at all levels with a flexible approach that demonstrates your ability to work as easily on your own or as part of a team, sharing your skills and knowledge and energising the people around you to achieve great things.

The role will mainly be based in Slough but will also involve travel to our depots and customers across the UK, with occasional overnight stays away from home.
