Buyer – Slough/Nottingham

The Non-Inventory Procurement team works with and supports all areas of the BFS Group businesses in the UK. BFS Group (including Bidfood, Bidvest Logistics, PCL Transport and others) spends over £100m on non-inventory goods and services.

The team works with internal stakeholders to help reduce costs, mitigate risks and secure preferential terms and conditions that will ultimately create value and improve BFS Group’s competitive advantage. A vacancy has now arisen for a Buyer within the Non-Inventory Procurement team, for which the location of this role is flexible. This role would suit someone who may have been in a junior buying or supporting role previously who is now ready to make the move to a buyer. They should be able to successfully carry out this function from day one with the support of the team.

Due diligence is key in this role so it is essential that you are process driven, able to work under pressure and can positively engage internal customers to ensure their collaboration. You’ll need to be adaptable and well organised to support a variety of projects with good commercial awareness and analytical skills. We need a good communicator, who is articulate (verbally and written), customer focused and driven by results. Some travelling will be involved in this role.

You will have excellent PC skills, specifically MS Excel and the ability to interpret complex data. Whilst a degree is preferred, it is not essential. We are ultimately looking for an ambitious person who will fit in well with our professional team and be keen to progress and develop.

This is an ideal opportunity if you are a junior buyer looking to take the next step in a career in procurement. If you are someone who likes challenge, enjoys getting involved and wants to be part of a growing and successful team, then please apply.
