Business Manager – Edinburgh

Bidfood Scotland are a leading wholesale food distributor covering the whole of Scotland consisting of four depots; Edinburgh, Inverness, Larbert and Oban. We pride ourselves on our close relationships with local suppliers and our ability to offer the best of Scotland’s larder to our customers. Our flexible infrastructure ensures that we are able to supply the entire Bidfood product range as a “one stop shop” to our customer base throughout Scotland, including the Highlands and Islands. Larbert is our hospitality hub that hosts Scotland’s customer experience centre that we use to help grow £14bn food and drink sector.

We are looking for someone to join our fieldsales team covering the Glasgow area. This role is all about developing our existing customer base and securing new business by converting prospective accounts. You’ll be based out of our Edinburgh (Newbridge) depot. In this fast paced role where no two days are the same, our ultimate goal is to keep the customer at the heart of everything we do so you’ll need to be a skilled relationship builder who understands the needs of the customer.

Working for us, you’ll not be just a number; you’ll be part of an inspiring team where your views count. You’ll be responsible for developing sales and profit in your area, by creating opportunities to sell more to our current customers and give them ultimate customer service, while at the same time identifying and converting prospect customers!

A foodservice sales background or front of house hospitality experience would be a benefit, but demonstrating excellent selling skills is a must, with a strong ambition to gain new accounts and regularly exceed sales targets. You’ll need to be a great communicator with a flexible approach to working either on your own or as part of a team, sharing skills and knowledge. We’ll be looking for you to challenge the norm and look for different ways of doing things to really make a difference to our customers and help us stand out from the crowd. Lastly you need to be comfortable with a lot of driving; sometimes in excess of 18,000 miles per annum! Occasional overnight stays away from home will also be required.
