Business development manager – fresh meat – Bicester

There’s every chance you’ll have eaten our food, so why not share our success and come and work for us? Bidfood is a leading wholesale food distributor and the preferred supplier for over 60,000 customers across the UK, ranging from pubs to schools, from restaurants to care homes and everything in between.

From Lands End to John O’Groats, whether our customers want just a teaspoon or a full range of catering supplies, we’ll supply their needs. We work as a team to provide every food option from quality ingredients to finished meals, including a number of own brand ranges as well as all the big brands and regional specialities.

In this fast paced role no two days are the same. Our ultimate goal is to keep the customer at the heart of everything we do and to do this you need to be good at building strong relationships with customers by really understanding their needs and looking for solutions to keep them happy.

You’ll be responsible for developing sales opportunities with existing accounts by analysing territory sales data, minimising order losses and identifying and converting prospect accounts. In addition you’ll identify and develop profitable business with new Bidfood customers in order to increase our market share and size of the market within the region.

You must bring a real passion with excellent selling skills, and a proven ability to regularly exceed sales targets in your career to date. You’ll need to be a strong communicator at all levels with a flexible approach that demonstrates your ability to develop relationships with clients of different cultures and with different needs. This will also show us your ability to work just as easily on your own or as part of a mobile team, freely sharing your skills and knowledge.

And lastly you need to be comfortable with a lot of driving; sometimes in excess of 18,000 miles per annum! Occasional overnight stays away from home will also be required.

If this is you, we look forward to hearing from you.

Benefits

Pension, 25 days holiday per year (plus public holidays), healthcare cash plan, childcare vouchers, personal accident insurance, employee discounts, free parking.
