Business development manager – Birmingham

Whether our customers want just a teaspoon or a full range of catering supplies, we’ll supply their needs. We work as a team to provide every food option from quality ingredients to finished meals.

In this fast paced role no two days are the same. Our ultimate goal is to keep the customer at the heart of everything we do and to do this you need to be good at building strong relationships with customers by really understanding their needs and looking for solutions to keep them happy.

You will take a commercial approach to win new business by identifying new account opportunities and converting these opportunities into sales thus making an increased contribution towards the depot profitability. Raising awareness of the Bidfood, Cannock depot. Work to develop strong relationships between depots and supplier community.

You will be responsible for winning new profitable business that will drive income for our teams at the depot.

To succeed in this role you will communicate across the business to ensure we have a coordinated approach towards the depot customer base, ensuring that all stake holders in the sales process take ownership and responsibility for their part in the sales achievement within this sector.

You must bring a real passion with excellent selling skills, and a proven ability to regularly exceed sales targets in your career to date. You’ll need to be a strong communicator at all levels with a flexible approach that demonstrates your ability to develop relationships with clients of different cultures and with different needs. This will also show us your ability to work just as easily on your own or as part of a mobile team, freely sharing your skills and knowledge.

And lastly you need to be comfortable with a lot of driving; sometimes in excess of 18,000 miles per annum! Occasional overnight stays away from home will also be required.
