Business analyst

The Business Analyst  will work with the Business Intelligence team understand business requirements and develop solutions that can be applied by the team.

As required this role will implement solutions and assist where possible with other BI developments.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the business to understand requirements, develop solutions with the BI team and get sign off against these solutions from the business
  • Work with business to design best solution from core applications and supported solutions, such as Qlik, SSRS, BI and .net
  • Work with BI team to build and/or implement solutions as per design in core systems such as appropriate, ie SSRS, BI , .net and Qlik
  • Work with IT department to implement solutions that are not delivered from the BI team
  • Write excellent quality BI reports and dashboards which are well-presented, simple to interpret, and which can be shared across Bidvest to speed up business decisions.
  • Review business processes to determine whether BI reporting can help improve these, or apply BI reports to determine whether processes have improved.
  • Support the business use of Access databases
  • Assist in prioritising work and development

Key skills:

  • Strong Business Analyst skills
  • Experience of SQL server stack: Management Studio, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS
  • Experience of VBA with Access and Excel
  • Experience of VB.Net knowledge
  • Experience of Qlik
  • Proactive self-starter and willingness to learn/develop

  • Knowledge of Sunrise service support tool
  • Knowledge of Agile
  • User/Client facing
  • Procedural programming capability
  • Data modelling concept awareness
  • Knowledge of data warehouse design options and considerations
  • Appreciation of data quality issues and concepts

  • Willingness for some travel
  • Testing experience
  • Awareness of BI trends

The role will be based in Slough, although occasional travel may be required.
