Christine – Customer Service Supervisor

Our Customer Service team handles and resolves a wide range of customer queries and issues on the phone or via email, and work hard to make sure each interaction is dealt with to the highest of standards. Christine tells us what it’s like to be part of this front line team.

Meet Christine…

I’m Christine, Customer Service Supervisor at our Lee Mill depot. I’ve worked within the Customer Service team for six years and, prior to that, I worked in both Telesales and the Bought Ledger departments.

As a Customer Service Supervisor, my typical day includes speaking to customers, researching credit claims, checking new accounts to make sure a seamless service is provided to them, and checking routes and routing on a daily basis to prevent issues with delivery windows – at Lee Mill we have a high percentage of independent accounts and some of these have preferred delivery windows, so I check each route every morning to make sure we’re going to meet the expectations of our customers.

I constantly strive to make life less complicated in Customer Services – I don’t like to duplicate work, so I’m willing to change the way we do things if it helps us to achieve our goals. Within my role I have the opportunity to look for new and more efficient ways of working that gets to the same end result.

I am also involved with the depot charity committee, helping to secure various prizes from suppliers as well as organising raffles, bake sales and other events. We have a charity of the year that we raise money for through various events and activities such as the Christmas raffle, and producing a charity calendar which is something we organised towards the end of 2017.

For anyone looking to join Bidfood, I’d say it’s a great place to work. We are always really busy but when we have spare moment, we like to have a team laugh!

I love my job because no two days are the same, so myself and my team are never bored. I can talk the hind legs off a donkey so this job is perfect for me!
