The Christmas holiday is all about spending time with loved ones, enjoying special moments and indulging in some fantastic food. When it comes to food, the festive cheeseboard really does take centre stage at the dinner table.

We’re fast becoming a foodie nation that is obsessed with cheese, with 90% of the 2,000 saying they know more about cheese than they did 10 years ago.

Christmas is fast approaching, so now is the time to start thinking about your festive offerings. Much to our surprise, research revealed Britain’s 2018 yuletide cheeseboard would be almost entirely made up of British cheeses, knocking cheddar of the top spot. It’s clear that people’s taste buds are becoming more adventurous, so in order to cater for everyone, offer a variation of cheese that covers all bases.

The variety

Your cheese offering needs to vary in strength, texture and shape. A classic combination consists of a hard cheese, a soft cheese, a blue and something with a little punch for that wow factor.
