One of the UK’s leading foodservice providers, Bidvest Foodservice, is launching its stunning ‘Simply Christmas’ 2015 product range. Developed to be truly irresistible and give consumers an extra special festive treat, a range of indulgent products have been developed to suit various menus and budgets.
With over 50 new products in the range across canapé and buffet, starters, mains and desserts, other ideas in the Christmas brochure include breakfast recipes such as croque madame with pigs in blankets and smoked haddock bubble and squeak, making it easier for customers to tap into the trend for all-day-dining and encourage diners to call in before lunch.
Many of the products offer British-sourced and Red Tractor ingredients too, and this years’ vegetarian and gluten-free options have been extended to help caterers meet special dietary requirements. Individual mince pies (which are gluten-free), pre-cut iced fruitcake and mini Christmas puddings have also been added to the range, enabling customers to offer a cake and a coffee at any time of day.
Along with recipes, great tasting ingredients and ready to finish dishes, the selection also includes festive tableware and stunning crackers to make it easy for customers to create a party atmosphere and add a festive sparkle to their outlet. New products for Christmas 2015 include a moondust cracker which features a ‘glitterball’ 3D print that sparkles without the mess of real glitter. Bidvest Foodservice’s sustainable crackers with matching sustainable coffee cups in a vintage print are also available again this year after proving hugely successful in 2014.

“Christmas planning starts early at Bidvest Foodservice and this years’ new products were selected in January, using feedback from customers about last years’ Christmas range and future trends. Our innovation team worked with suppliers to bring products into the range that meet different customer needs in both recognised branded products and products within our own brand range. Our development chefs cooked and tested each product to ensure they are of the highest quality too.”
“This year we’ve really tried to focus on giving our customers something a little bit different that meets a consumer need or popular trend. For example, the pulled pork croquettes in our buffet range are on trend with Americana cuisine and are easy to eat as finger food, whilst the own brand gingerbread cheesecake mixes a variety of flavour profiles into one dessert, something that we found worked well last year, and offers customers an indulgent treat.
“Along with product development to ensure our range caters for any festive occasion, we’ve created deals and offers that provide exceptional value for customers across the board.
“From mouth-watering vegetarian dishes across buffet, starters and mains, to our own brand turkey paupiette that can be cooked from frozen, and flavour-fusion festive desserts, we’re really excited to see what magic the chefs will create with our range this year.”
